actually in the books James Bond asked for his drink stirred not shaken ~ because after his capers he was always stirred but not shaken, however the people who made the films thought it sounded better the other way around. So that throws a slight spanner in the works!
The Vesper Martini has '2 measures Gordon's gin, 1 measure vodka, 1/2 measure of Kina Lillet( or its modern equivalent Lillet Blanc vermouth), shaken until cold and served with a large thin slice of lemon'. From the film Casino Royale.
you also need a swirl of lemon zest or a slice of lemon for decor and taste
I have to say, this is not the James Bond martini drink. The james bond martini is:'Vodka Martini, Shaken Not Stirred'. The drink described here is in fact the 'Vesper', as thought up by James during a poker game in the latest film. I should know, I drink them a lot!
