This is the loveliest drink on the planet BUT, first, your recipe is off. It’s 2 shots whisky to 1 shot sweet vermouth plus a dash of bitters. Serve it icy cold, straight up, and over a plump marachino cherry. Nothing–I repeat, nothing–is better than a manhattan served thusly. It has enough alcohol to induce a pleasant, narcotic buzz whilst leaving you lucid enough to conversate. . . barely. 3 shots in 1–what could be better?
