To serve this drink correctly first read Antonio Tabucchi's book, "Requiem", where it is intensely described. If you don't have time for reading do the following:

In a shaker add (in this order):
3 ice cubes,
3 parts vodka,
1 part lime juice,
a dash of peppermint syrup (the greener the better),

Close the shaker and shake it until your arm hurts.

Take the ice out and pour in a long glass adding the mint springs as the final touch.
