The Shaker
BarSchools are fully stocked working cocktail bars in a stylish lounge
bar environment, devoted entirely for training, research and
development. Our vocational bartending courses offer you the opportunity
to train in all disciplines of bartending from customer service to bar
etiquette, sales and presentation, product knowledge to cocktail
preparation, mixology and much more.

The Shaker BarSchool aims to:
‘Bridge the gap between bartending and professional bartending’ and provides:
A five metre purpose-built working cocktail bar, stocking over 150 spirits and liqueurs.
Lounge-like classroom with audio visual presentation equipment/projector facilities available for meetings, presentations and theoretical training.
Reception/entertainment area for video and DVD presentations.
ShakerLibrary, the learning and resource centre, with an impressive selection of journals, magazines and books from around the world.
Flexible training programs available at the Shaker BarSchool or In-house. One day courses, beginner, intermediate and advanced to 2 month on-going training programs available.
Full-time professional trainers that are actively involved in the industry, delivering unique training methods with both industry and academic foundation.
On-site catering facilities and beverage systems providing alternative beverages such as coffees, teas, and Hot Chocolate.

Adam Freeth
Founder and creator of the Shaker training program, has 9 years experience in bars throughout the UK and Europe, has personally trained 100’s of individuals and conducted training and consultancy work for various bars and hotels (Ibiza, Crete,
Rhodes, Birmingham, Leicester, London, Bedfordshire). A recognised trainer throughout the industry, having trained students that are now working in some of the leading brands in the UK, TGI Fridays, Tiger Tiger, Hilton Group, Sheraton Hotels, Chicago
Rock Café (Luminar Leisure Plc), and various style bars throughout London and the UK (Living Room, Zuma, Bankside, Mojo, Time, Ocean, the lobby, Innfusion, Jim Thompsons, Café Rouge and many more). Adam prides himself in the successes of his
students.
Adam is also the author of ‘Me, Myself and My Passion for All things Bar Related’ and ‘Think outside the box…what box?’
Dedicating 5 years of research into the development of the BarSchool and training program over both a BA and Msc. Conducting a Masters Thesis on the Bar Industry in the UK. His research continues into this field of HRM and training program, and
the development of the Shaker Program remains an on-going interest. Adam has featured in national press (The Guardian) and television (Carlton TV) as an authority on cocktails and bartending and leads his team at the Shaker BarSchool with a
very practical approach.
Anil Sabharwal
Anil brings a wealth of knowledge and flair experience to the Shaker UK team having trained and worked at some of the leading corporate chains in the UK.
A competition cocktail bartender who has been placed in many competitions including, Roadhouse Finalist (October 2002) and The National Bartenders Challenge (2000), which he won. Anil is the author of ‘If it‘s not nailed down…then flair it’ and
the critically acclaimed ‘Flairing in My Sleep’. Anil also holds shares in Amaretto; you may wish to ask him about that one.
An accomplished working flair bartender, Anil heads the events staff operationally. Anil also specialises in the training of flair bartending, and he is currently placed amongst the best in the UK. His flair and bartending experience has taken him
around the circuit giving him more than enough experience to teach the art of 'Mixology' (Cocktail Bartending). Having worked in European tourist resorts Anil has also gained the perspective of different styles of Flair and Bartending, giving him an
all round bartending expertise.
